Job Description :
Dermalogica is seeking an experienced social storyteller & passionate skin health advocate to lead Dermalogica’s Social Engagement Team & grow the #dermalogica community.
The Associate Director of Social Engagement reports to the VP of Marketing & is responsible for growing Dermalogica’s community, increasing engagement and strengthening the number of quality interactions with our consumers across priority owned & earned channels. They understand and care about our community, embrace our brand values and are experienced at building meaningful communities across evolving social platforms.
What You’ll Do
Measurement and reporting: Develop a learning strategy across all owned and earned social efforts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok & YouTube as priorities). Lead up the dissemination of weekly insights on channel performance, social trends, community needs, and audience behaviors to help drive strategic decision-making.
Campaign & Editorial Planning: Calendar ownership inclusive of campaign flight plans and editorial moments.
Present & pitch social engagement plans utilizing learnings.
Publishing/Engagement: Lead social publishing across all brands social channels prioritizing channels with more efficient organic reach.
Customer Care: Oversee community engagement to foster positive word of mouth/channel growth and ensure that customer comments & direct messages are responded to within 12 hours.
Creative Development: Concept, brief, and support organic and paid social initiatives in partnership with Creative & Content Team.
Leadership: Foster a culture around our brand values, encourage creativity and
Strategy: Work with Growth, Professional & Creative & Content Leads to ensures all our channels support each other holistically/ align with growth marketing efforts.
Providing insights for always-on, as well as paid efforts, inclusive of developing an evergreen brand voice, brand behavior, channel strategies, community management and POV on audience engagement.
Agency Coordination: Work with agency partners, brand partners, talent/creators, or other organizations central for social events/ engagement.
Oversee the scouting of community talent (nano & micro creator level) to build a robust network of authentic Dermalogica advocates & creators.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Work with other teams in the company such as, Growth Marketing, Campaign & Pro etc. to generate integrated social media campaigns.
Process development: Proactively solve problems and establish ways of working that influence the rest of the org.
Customer care – take ownership to work cross-departmentally with warehouse personnel, operations team, and ecommerce team to ensure customers queries via social platforms are “handled, not just “passed on”.
Manage customer service priorities and demonstrate and understand when to escalate issues to senior management
Partner with ecom & customer care teams on bigger roadmap initiatives for service
Oversee the social engagement budget investing spend into our most impactful stories
Continuously measure and improve work, formalizing reporting on key metrics; assess and drive investment in and management of the appropriate analytic tools to optimize marketing performance
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret social data
Deep understanding of the social media landscape; both short and long-term trends
Intimate knowledge of platforms, tools, social creators, and content best practices
Skilled at clearly communicating learnings and ideas through deck presentations.
Ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
Strong social copywriting.
5+ years of relevant social marketing / editorial experience in a management role.
Experience managing communities within beauty/ skin care industry.
Experience working in social tools with an insights-driven mindset
Experience directing & briefing creators, influencers & talent for content & Live Events.
Proven leadership skills, including building high-performing teams.
Experience with various reporting tools (e.g., Tribe Dynamics, Dash Hudson, Google Analytics, etc.)
Background with live chat highly desirable.
