Job Summary

The Catalog & Curriculum Systems Analyst works under the general direction of the Associate Registrar and performs a wide variety of administrative, analytical, project management, and technical duties in support of the Office of the Registrar and the University, specifically related to curriculum development and publication of the catalog. The incumbent is a resource for faculty and staff as it relates to the Curriculum Management system used by the University for submitting, reviewing, and approving course and program proposals and provides analysis for informed decision making, ensuring compliance with academic policy. This position also serves as the program administrator for the content management system, which is used to publish the catalog and interfaces with the University’s student information system. The Catalog & Curriculum Systems Analyst prepares and provides files used in the planning and proofing phases of a catalog review cycle, is the steward of the official record of curriculum requirements and courses, and publishes the catalog for use by faculty, staff, students (current, former, and prospective) as well as external entities.

In addition, the incumbent serves as backup to the Curriculum Systems Analyst for building and maintaining course requisites in the student information system, which are enforced during registration. The Catalog & Curriculum Systems Analyst creates and maintains the online catalog and related websites such as the Curriculum Handbook and catalog archives. This position also assists the Associate Registrar and Curriculum Systems Analyst in assessing current curricular processes and workflow and implementing efficiencies through best practices, innovation, and technology.

As a campus resource, this position provides and communicates solutions on a wide range of issues to a varied constituency. The incumbent prioritizes day-to-day responsibilities with long-term projects in a deadline driven environment.

Department Summary

Within Academic Affairs, the Office of the Registrar serves the entire campus community and its alumni. It is responsible for the integrity and maintenance of all aspects of the student academic record from the point of admission to the University, progressing through the evaluation of transfer credit, registration, program and enrollment changes, verification of enrollment activity, tracking of degree progress, degree conferral, diploma preparation, graduation, and transcript production. The Office of the Registrar is also responsible for the administration of the University’s courses, curricula, and academic scheduling that support student enrollment and progress to degree.

Key Qualifications

Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of high level and sensitive interpersonal situations with diverse personalities, and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere in and outside the University with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Three years of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $52,000 – $61,000 per year

Classification Range: $46,764 – $84,612 per year
