Job Description :
PurposeUnder the general supervision, the Communications Coordinator plans, organizes, and carries out a comprehensive public information, media relations, and communications program as well as promoting the organization’s mission and values; provides strategic and public affairs coordination for Soledad Community Healthcare District (SCHCD); assists with marketing special projects and events and serves as the media contact and spokesperson for all events.Primary Job Functions

Create and lead communication strategies including goals, tracking of metrics timelines and plans for advancing SCHCD’s work, including external and internal communications activities;
Develop strategic messaging campaigns to increase understanding of social determinants of health and equity
Create strategic media messaging and materials for supporting and communicating the work to local, area/regional, state partners and social media outlets including flyers, press releases, PSAs, print ads, newsletters, etc.

*Regularly update and support use of all websites (district, WHC, SMC, Eden Valley, and Foundations), Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkTree, MailChimp, Linkedin, etc.;

Build relationships with action team leads and residents to support during events such as business expos, job fairs and community health fairs, etc.,
Work collaboratively with actions teams, staff, and reporters to develop and maintain media activities including media campaigns, media relations, and videos;
Participate in team meetings, circulos, staff meetings, training and other community events, as assigned by CEO;
Assist with facilitation, coordination and media content, talking points, social media strategies and messaging for employee events (Summer Carnival, End of year Event, Employee of the month, etc.,);
Facilitate and plan District and foundation sponsored events.
Support production of public reports
Keep archives of documents, photos and videos organized;
Assist community members and staff in understanding and interpreting media strategies, opportunities, and developing appropriate media activities;
Guide and implement the creative vision for graphic design, film, and photo work;
Prepares and distributes messages to media outlets in the form of press releases, videos, audio clips, flyers, brochures, newsletters, posters, presentations and speeches and blogs;
Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

*Education and/or Experience*

1+ years of experience in marketing
1+ years of experience in communications
1+ years of experience managing projects
1+ years working with community members and with systems leaders

*Education and/or Experience*Associates Degree and two years of related experienceBachelor’s Degree preferred
