Customer Service Representative

Salary Range: $18.00 – $20.00

Summary/Objective
Responsible for acting as a liaison between customers and the company. Assists with complaints, orders, errors, account questions, billing, cancelations, and other queries.

Essential Functions

Serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product and service problems.
Provides quotes and enters sales orders into computer database
Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information about other products and services.
Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting, and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Uses telephones and/or email to respond to customers and/or verify account information
Greets customers warmly and ascertain problem or reason for calling
Assist with placement of orders, refunds, or exchanges
Communicating and coordinating with department as necessary
Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support
Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
1 year of customer service experience
Basic computer skills in various software and web-based applications
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Comfortable working in a high-volume role
Experience working with inside sales preferred
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently

SUPERVISION
Position reports directly to the department manager and is under his/her general direction.

TRAVEL
No travel is expected for this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with people outside the Company, representing the Company to customers, the public and other external sources. Communicates with supervisor, peers and other Company staff working as part of a team contributing to Company goals.

REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to work with either verbal/written direction produce an acceptable work product with minimal supervision. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research, and input from peers. This position may perform multiple job tasks daily.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds occasionally
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Time is spent primarily sitting in a climate-controlled office environment or shared office space.
Time is spent looking at a computer screen, keyboarding and using a mouse and/or telephone.
Must be able to work under pressure, particularly when faced with a tight deadline.
Must be able to work normal hours of Monday through Friday at least 8 hours a day, but also be willing to work overtime when necessary.
