The Director of Systems Engineering and Operations role leads Systems Engineering and Operations/help desk teams. This position is responsible for the Engineering and day to day operations of Distributed Computing infrastructure of the organization. By utilizing business, technical, and leadership skills, this role provides personnel management and guides the day to dayoperations of the technical infrastructure while directing the team in achieving the long-term strategic goals set by the senior management.

Extensive contact with all management levels and other technology verticals is required to provision and support complex information technology solutions. This position is accountable for developing and implementing strategic initiatives, while ensuring policies, procedures and guidelines are followed. What you’ll do here: • Experience with architecture, Management, Migration and Operations of data center assets in cloud, preferably AWS. • Experience with leading a team in automating various aspects of IT infrastructure like provisioning, patching, change management, configuration management, monitoring and other day—to-day operations items.

Experience with Dev-Ops and/or migrating/managing a team of Dev-Ops professionals. • Establishes standardized processes and key operational metrics based on ITIL (or other equivalent Framework) to effectively manage the performance of the IT Operations organizations to include, availability and performance of applications and services, Help Desk ticket management, hardware, life-cycle management, etc. • Position will lead a team of managers, support desk techs and engineers responsible for providing distributed computing services, including virtualization, Cloud, server platforms, and storage. • Establishes Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements in alignment with Company objectives and customer needs.
Designs, implements, and manages systems/applications monitoring processes and tools to proactively identify and resolve problems within the Company computer environment. • Manages the timely backup and recovery of applications and systems to enable the recovery of information should an adverse event occur. • A key player in developing companywide security framework and ensures protection of systems and data in accordance with the regulatory and company policies • Maintains enterprise systems and servers in support of business processing requirements. • Performs upgrades to operating systems and software packages.
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures. • Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. • Ensures workstation/server and software data integrity and security by evaluating implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. • Facilitates vendors service and system upgrades with project management teams and users to ensure systems availability.
Helps coordinate activities and technology projects between business partners and the IT Operations team. • Identifies issues and recommends solutions. • Ensures the proper operation of systems. Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimal performance.
Ensures server and software data integrity and security. • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. • Participates in the design and implementation of technology projects. • Interfaces with vendors, service providers, business partners, project management team and users.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills you’ll need for success: • Bachelor’s Degree required. • Bachelor’s Degree in technical, engineering, computer science or business management field preferred. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field highly preferred.
5+ years management experience preferred. • Microsoft Windows Server technologies experience required. • Experience with Cloud technologies required (e.g. AWS, Azure) • VMware virtualization experience required • Strong understanding of enterprise storage (e.g.
EMC, NetApp) • Strong understanding of networking (e.g. TCP/IP, VLANs, • Understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Lync • Experience with Citrix a • Experience with Linux (RHEL, SLES) • Experience with Backup technologies and Disaster Recovery • Experience leading NOC/Help Desk required. • Current Microsoft and/or VMware certifications a plus • Must have a sound understanding of business functions within, and outside of, Information Technology. Must have strong technical skills across multiple disciplines.
