Job Description
An In-House Counsel, you will work in a dynamic role where you will have broad exposure and responsibilities across all legal aspects of the company. You will support the growth and strategy goals of the business. You will regularly provide expert legal advice to top level leaders and executives. You will gain the opportunity to contribute to the organization and growth of the legal department in an effort to improve efficiency and support the business. You will work side by side with a successful, seasoned team of in-house counsel offering the ability to develop in your role in a fast growth, e-commerce company.
Duties and Responsibilities

Review, draft and negotiate complex commercial transactions involving technology, operations, insurance, privacy, intellectual property, real estate, services, and other vendor agreements.
Anticipate and identify potential legal problems for the General Counsel and senior members of the legal team and assist such individuals in developing strategies to enhance compliance, avoid litigation, and reduce potential areas of risk.
Provide clear and concise advice to EBG business partners on relevant strategy for transactions of varying complexity and a variety of business and legal issues.
Manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risk issues and costs with appropriate stakeholders.
Support the legal department’s overall goal of increasing organizational efficiency and achievement of business objectives in a manner that minimizes legal risk.
Assist in the further implementation of effective contract administration, document management, and compliance processes.
Foster positive long-term relationships with business colleagues and clients


Juris Doctorate and member of the New York or Florida State Bar in good standing, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel
3-5 years of post-law school relevant experience. Ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following: insurance, privacy and security, and/or litigation
Ability to identify and appropriately weigh risk, reputational and commercial issues in solving sophisticated legal problems and prioritizing work within time-sensitive deadlines while working effectively with clients, other control functions and external counsel. Excellent technical, presentation and communication skills
The ideal candidate must be thorough, thoughtful, detail-oriented, flexible, self-driven, collaborative, and able to prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines
Ability to interpret legislative and regulatory requirements. Ability to review, draft, negotiate and oversee a broad range of complex commercial transactions
Excellent communication (written and oral), drafting, and negotiation skills
Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
Ability to provide high-quality work product in a timely manner to meet demands of the organization and to effectively and efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Upbeat temperament, dynamic personality, and highly team-oriented approach to work
Strong work ethic
Occasional domestic travel may be required
Must be commutable to an EBG office location and able to work onsite a minimum of 2 days per month
