Duties and Responsibilities
The MS Business Consultant II in the Bureau of Motorist Services Support, Technical Field Support Unit, is essential to the coordination, installation, implementation, maintenance, and support of FLHSMV distributed computer systems, including hardware, software, and communication components of the Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION), Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), Automated Driver License Testing System (ADLTS), microcomputer applications and the Division of Motorist Services automated systems. As an MS Business Consultant II, you will be responsible for coordinating and working with FLHSMV’s Information Systems Administration (ISA), county information technology (IT) staff, and vendors during the installation, maintenance, and repair of FLHSMV equipment.
The MS Business Consultant II is also responsible for the security of driver license equipment, materials, and supplies by performing facility security analysis in state, county, License Plate Agencies, and FLHSMV Regional Offices. They are also responsible for the installation, management, maintenance of the facility security CCTV systems in state owned driver license offices in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The MS Business Consultant II is responsible for providing training to office personnel in the operation of this equipment. This position supports the Operations Services Manager (OSM) SES of this unit by assisting FLHSMV offices and tax collectors with the installation, maintenance, and repairs of any driver license issuance systems including ORION, ADLTS, and fingerprint systems. As an MS Business Consultant II, you will work independently and travel to work in tax collector offices and work with governmental and private organizations that partner with FLHSMV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written.
Ability to work with disparate entities to resolve issues, and complete assigned projects.
Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Knowledge and ability of adding and removing peripheral computer devices and a basic understanding of networking are required.
Experience in supporting the Windows Operating System and the entire Microsoft Office application.
Experience in safely working with the internal components of desktop computers
Ability to process information logically, troubleshoot and resolve computer problems
Ability to prioritize work assignments
Ability to install, configure and manage software applications.
Ability to install, configure, and manage IP CCTV systems.
Preference will be given to applicants with –
Experience dealing directly with Florida County Tax Collectors.
Experience dealing directly with IT Liaisons for Florida County Tax Collectors.
Experience working with FRVIS, ORION, and ADLTS.
Experience working with IP CCTV systems.
Experience working with fingerprint hardware systems.
1 year customer experience dealing directly with constituent and customer issues.
A valid driver license is required for this position.
Extensive travel, working non-typical times (weekends, holidays), and extended work hours is required for this position.
This position will require the selected applicant to work alternate hours or days based on agency need.
Applicant must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
