Pay Rate: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour, DOE
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt

Job Description
Javelin Utility Services Inc. is searching for a Pole Engineer to join us in our Roseville, California office. This is a critical support position for our busy construction company. The role of the Pole Engineer is to ensure pole walk outs are accurately completed by measuring pole line heights, distances from pole to home from drops, gathering pole data in the field and inputting into software used: EZ Load and Ocalc. This position requires a lot of walking. As a Pole Engineer, it’s vital to ensure that daily work gets completely accurately and on time which includes but is not limited to: creating pole plans and aerial facilities for load calculations and make-ready reports.

Required Qualifications:

Input data to create computer models and aerial facilities from field survey data, notes, photos, and sketches
Perform structural loading calculations in accordance with NEC and pole owner protocol through inventory and analysis of pole type and class, riser details, attached facility type including weight and diameters, span footages, drip loops etc.
Responsible for reviewing proposed aerial construction projects and making recommended changes for pole attachments, facility types and necessary clearances
Upon completion of the pole analysis, develop a cable placement plan to include cable all remedies required for new attachments to meet NEC and pole owner protocol
Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and prepare detailed weekly status reports and updates to clients through routine conference calls or meetings
2-3 years of experience working in telecommunications/construction industry
Proficient knowledge in telecommunications engineering, construction principles and practices
Excellent computer navigation skills including design software and MS Office, specifically Excel
Experience and knowledge with aerial, buried, and underground designs preferred
Experience and knowledge of fiber cable placement preferred
High level of initiative and productivity
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills

Job Requirements:

Be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
Must pass U/A Test (urinalysis)
